Hello!
I am writing from Brooklyn, New York, U.S.A. I work with students and teachers at P.S. 124, an elementary school, on technology based projects and media literacy. I learned of your blog through Gemma and Kristy from Primary 6. They left a comment one of our blogs PS124 Third Grade Blog.

We were excited to hear from them, and would like to propose some correspondence between our schools connected to our blogs.

My idea would be to have our kids start by making posts on our blog as an introduction to your students, your students could leave comments and direct us to posts on their blog about themselves.

We would start by introducing our class 4-308 (a fourth grade class, ages 8-9), using writing and digital images of the classroom and students. Next we would move describe the neighborhood we’re in, and tell you a little about Brooklyn — again, with writing and digital images.

As a culminating project in June, we would post a video tour of the school and neighborhood, that would be posted to the blog via You Tube.

What do you think? Would there be any classes that would be a good match for this type of exchange? Your kids/teachers could respond in any way they have time to.

We’d love to hear more about your plans for your blogs, and any thoughts you’ve had on the multi-media pen pal idea.

All the best,
Rhys of The Media Spot

i went to forehill from 1989-1996, although it was a long time ago, it was a wonderful place to learn and the teachers were fantastic. I have a little boy now and it would be my first choice school if we still lived in the area.

Thanks for your comment Claire. It is always great to hear from former pupils. There are still a few teachers at Forehill that would have been there in your time (including myself)- I will pass on your message to the staff when we get back to school next week.
